Research

Our research focuses on the visualization of data from five different areas, namely mechanical engineering, medicine, biology, geosciences and humanities. In mechanical engineering, we concentrate on flow visulization and visualization in material sciences. Regarding medicine, we work primarily on visual analysis for neuroscience applications. Our biological applications center around metabolic networks, gen expression data and folding of macromolecules like RNA and proteins. In the geosciences, we focus on the visualization of data from climate research and hydrology. Our cooperation with humanities aims at the visual analytics of large document collections.
