I am a scientific member of the Interdisciplinary Center for Bioinformatics (IZBI) and the Leipzig Research Centre for Civilization Diseases (LIFE) at the University of Leipzig. Moreover, I am also associated with the Database Group of the Dept. of Computer Science at the same university.
Since 1999, I hold a diploma in economics with specialization in business informatics, logistics, and production management. In 2007, I received a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Leipzig. Before I came back to the university in 2002, I have worked several years as an IT-Consultant and was involved in various projects in different branches and with different responsibilities during this time.
Currently, my main interests consist in approaches and methods for data integration, data cleaning, and matching large ontologies, especially in bio- / medical informatics but it is not limited to that. I also have served as a PC member and co-reviewer for several conferences, such as SWAT4LS (2014), DILS (2014, 2011, 2010, 2009, ...), ODLS (2014, 2013, 2012, 2011), BTW (2009, ...), VLDB (2007, ...), ISMB/ECCB (2007), and journals including Information Systems, Bioinformatics, and BMC Bioinformatics.
Thank you for showing an interest in my work.
