Logistics
- The lecture meets each Friday from 13:15 - 14:45 in
SG 00-99.
- The laboratory meets each Friday from 15:00 - 16:30
in SG 3-09.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, you should be able to
build a relatively sophisticated website using the
following technologies:
- PHP
- for server side scripting
- MySQL
- for interacting with databases
- XHTML
- for building web pages
- JavaScript
- for client side scripting
Development Platform
Ideally, use a laptop running either Windows, Linux
or Mac OS. A laptop has
many advantages:
- You may bring it to lecture
- You may bring it to lab
- You may use it to demonstrate your work
- You may configure it with appropriate software, all of
which is freely available. See the first lecture for
more information.
- You may use an editor of choice. One simple editor to consider
is jEdit.

Grading
- 70%. The quality of the course project.
- 30%. Performance on the weekly laboratories.
Resources
There will be no required textbook for this course. There are many
useful resources freely available on the web.
