CALL FOR PAPERS


on "Weighted Automata: Theory and Applications"
special issue of the Journal of Automata, Languages and Combinatorics



From March 4 - 8, 2002, there will be a workshop at Dresden University of Technology, Germany, on "Weighted Automata: Theory and Applications".

The workshop should cover all aspects of weighted automata, ranging from the theory of formal power series to max-plus-algebra and applications e.g. in algebraic optimization of railway networks or natural language processing.

The Journal of Automata, Languages, and Combinatorics (JALC) has agreed to publish a special issue on this topic. Submissions related to this topic could be either survey articles or research papers and will be refereed as usual. Participation in the above workshop is encouraged, but is not a prerequisite for a submission.

Authors are asked to submit preferably a PostScript file (or else manuscripts in triplicate) to one of the editors of the special issue:
